Educational Objectives

Implement in-office strategies to identify high cardiovascular

risk (CHD) patients and utilize national guidelines for goal
achievement.

Employ the latest therapeutic advances in: lifestyle

modification and non-pharmacological treatment of CHD risk

factors, management of dyslipidemia, treatment of hypertension,

treatment of type 2 diabetes, modifications of visceral

adiposity, metabolic syndrome, and pre-diabetes.

Discuss new therapeutic options for CHD risk factors that
improve patient compliance and adherence to guidelines,

management of difficult-to-treat patients such as statin intolerant,

and uncontrolled hypertension.

Evaluate emerging biomarkers of atherosclerosis and their

incorporation into clinical practice.
